LOOK YOUNGER

Three Steps To Conceal Under-Eye Dark Circles

Dark circles under the eyes can be a chronic problem or can be the effect of little sleep and stress. Whatever the cause, they can be well disguised with concealer if you follow these

1

Type of concealer: Avoid liquid concealers that will settle in the creases under your eyes, make you look even older. Concealers in a light cream form are the best option.

2

Color of concealer: Although it is a thumb rule to use a concealer one shade lighter than your skin, this may not work for all people. Try out several concealers at a make-up counter and look for one that does not make your eyes appear pasty and not too dark. This could be achieved by a concealer up to two shades lighter than your skin color. A yellowish concealer will help conceal bluish circles while a blue or tan tinted one will help conceal brown circles.

3

Application: How you apply concealer can make all the difference. Apply a thin layer and blend it with a make up brush or your finger. Seal it with a powder of your normal skin tone

SOME TIPS TO LOOK YOUNGER!

You may never find the fountain of youth, but there are plenty of things you can do with make up to look – and feel – younger!

  • Never skip sun screen! The sun is the leading cause of early wrinkles and pigmented skin that make you look older than you are.

  • Using facial masks regularly will make your skin tighter.

  • Lifting your eyes with shimmering eye shadow, some kohl (not too much) and using an eye lash curler after applying mascara will open up your eyes and give you an instant face lift!

  • Bangs are a great youthful hairstyle that add pizzazz to your look and also conceal forehead wrinkles!

  • Pony tails are also fun hair styles that keep you looking trendy and also pull back the skin on your forehead to make your face more taut.

Finally, the best way to combat the ageing process is to eat healthy, moisturize and work out regularly!

HOW CAN I HIDE MY AGE?

The key word here is `subtlety’. Don’t try to achieve a younger look, but one that projects grace and elegance.

    This is how:
    • Apply moisturizer before foundation. Wait for ten minutes to allow the skin to absorb it.
    • Cover flaws like pigmented patches with a foundation, or concealer that is a shade lighter than your skin tone.
    • Use a creamy foundation diluted with a drop of water for lighter and smoother coverage.
    • While choosing foundations go for beige or golden tones avoid pinks.
    • Avoid powders if your skin is dry, but apply a soft shade blusher on the cheekbones going outwards and slightly upwards.
    • Go for the soft look while applying eye make-up. Avoid eyeliners, use eye shadow or eye pencil to line the upper lids. Draw a line close to the lashes.
    • Avoid harsh black eye pencils, go for brown or grey shades instead.
    • Mascara helps to brighten eyes. Use a brush to separate the lashes for a natural look.
    • Redefine the lip line with a lip pencil and fill in with lipstick, using a lip brush.
    • Very dark lip colours, especially blue tones have an aging effect. Very light colours are also a no-no. Go for burgundy, plum, coral, bronze, copper or coffee shades.

    CAMOUFLAGE A DOUBLE CHIN!

To mask a double chin, apply a light colour foundation on the chin and a dark foundation on the double chin. Slide down the neck area with the foundation blending carefully to avoid any harsh lines. You may also minimize a double chin by shading some blusher around the jawbone and under the jawline.
